The laser marking process is a type of surface treatment, controlled and localized, which uses the energy of a beam of coherent light at high intensity to “alter” the surface of the engraved material.
The large variety of wavelengths, pulse energies and different lasers, makes it necessary so that a comparative analysis can determine which laser is the most suitable for the specific application.
In addition to the wide range of laser marking systems developed since 1990, Lasit designs and manufactures customized laser engraving machines for virtually any application.
Lasit is one of the few companies that offers over 26 years of experience with both laser marking technology as well as 3D CAD design, electronic design, optical design, software development, clean room applications, FEA, in an environment with multiple workshops with 10 CNC machines and laser cutting.
Engineering is often able to find economical solutions that offer the simplest and most functional operation for each application. This is a result of many years in developing custom laser marking systems that eventually become standard.

Many custom laser markers including handling systems, XY tables, rotating spindles with varying resolutions, rotating scan heads, conveyorized loading/ unloading systems, pick and place, warehouses, stackers, vision systems SLR or TTL (through the lens), reading systems and datamatrix verification have been integrated into our products and have become standard products in many cases.
In addition the software for the control of the laser and the laser engraving of the parts has all been developed in house. This allows us to customize the software when necessary. All applications are considered on an individual basis to find the best solution. We take into consideration the type of material, the depth of the marks, the environment, passivation, salt spray testing, whether the part will be outside in a harsh environment or not.
In many cases the laser engravers are used within a business process and software can be customized accordingly enabling operator interface with a method of data exchange with the ERP. Additionally, the laser engraving machine can be synchronized with a robot using digital signals (I/0), PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and RS232. The laser can be interfaced with a pre-existing PLC system or can be accompanied by a programmed PLC.
In certain applications, when it is necessary to directly import of load laser marking programs from and existing customer database, the software can read the data base by reading the bar code or the datamatrix. FlyCAD is able to provide OCX controls and .NET libraries which offers complete software customization. In cases where there is not in-house software personnel available, LASIT will help to provide all the necessary expertise in customizing the software. It is possible to design software applications that can control the entire laser marking process through simple and intuitive graphical interface.
